From Omeletta:
Is there anything better in this world than beer and ice cream? No? How about the two of them, together?
Seriously. I know. Amazing.
This week, for my contribution to MyIrishJeweler.com, I made a gorgeous Malted Buttermilk Ice Cream. Then I dropped a big fat ball of it into a creamy pint of Guinness. Annnnnd then gave the whole thing to my husband, who was delighted. This is because, of course, I am gestating his firstborn and I can’t go around glugging down pints of Guinness willy-nilly.
You know what I can do, though? I can command him to lift all the heavy things and carry them around the apartment for me. Sometimes I ask him to pick up heavy things not because I need them moved, but because it makes me feel better about missing out on things like Guinness Floats. I mean, this is malty, tangy buttermilk ice cream mixed with creamy, roasty Guinness. You’d feel left out, too, I promise you.
So while I add a Guinness Float to the list of food items I would like to be brought to my bedside once the baby is born (along with sashimi tuna and an enormous plate of oysters), head on over to MyIrishJeweler.com to check out the recipe and post. And maybe mix dessert up a bit this Thanksgiving with a huge boozy float!
